THE BALL STREET JOURNAL

Sheltering in place for the foreseeable future almost seems surreal. Will this become the new norm every winter and spring? I don’t like to think about the worst-case scenario, I just hope that as a nation we can pull out of this quickly and use this as a learning opportunity to practice selflessness and kindness.

On a more positive note, congratulations are in order for Columbia’s John Strazza and James White as they take Russ & Bia’s “Best on Earth” to #1 this week! It exploded with an increase of 530 spins and took 18 weeks to achieve this goal. They now have Arizona Zervas’ “FML” and Tyga’s “Freak” impacting the next two weeks.

RCA’s Lori G and Inca have H.E.R.’s “Slide” f/Usher at #4, gaining over 400 spins. They are making a push for #1 in the next few weeks. Doja Cat’s “Say So” (Kemosabe) continues to be a monster, adding over 630 spins to its total and moving to #12. This should be inside the Top 5 within 2 weeks! SZA X Justin Timberlake’s “The Other Side” is up an even 200 spins and moves inside the Top 25. Khalid X Disclosure’s “Know Your Worth” is up triple digits. They just miss a debut with Usher’s “Don’t Waste My Time,” as it comes in at #41 and is up 35 spins.

Epic’s Rick Sackheim and Dontay Thompson see Black Eyed Peas’ “RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)” enter the Top 10 and it’s up 130 spins. Camila Cabello’s “My Oh My” f/DaBaby lands at #29, while Jackboys’ “Out West” (Cactus Jack) climbs to #32, gaining 180 spins. Yo Gotti’s “H.O.E.” sees an increase of 85 spins and moves closer to a debut at #43.

Republic’s Davey Dee and Garrett Ream see The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (XO) explode inside the Top 10. It’s up 340 spins and moves to #8. Skip Marley & H.E.R.’s “Slow Down” gains another 240 spins and is now at #23. Karol G & Nicki Minaj’s “TUSA” (UMLE) adds another 150 spins to its total and climbs to #28. Kiana Lede’s “Mad at Me” gains 40 spins, and The Weeknd’s “After Hours” (XO) is up 20 spins. Based on continued success with streams, they’re still working Pop Smoke’s “Dior.” It was up 65 spins and looks to get back on the chart this coming week. They are also impacting The Weeknd’s “In Your Eyes” (XO) this week.

Def Jam’s Noah Sheer continues growing Justin Bieber’s “Intentions” f/Quavo. It was up nearly 300 spins and is rolling at Top 40 as well. Jhené Aiko’s “OTW” debuted at #35, thanks to a 260 spin increase. They also impacted Danileigh’s “Levi High” f/DaBaby last week and it’s off to a solid start, up 175 spins and looking to debut in the next few weeks.

Dixie Tipton and Capitol achieve their goal of a Top 5 record with Lil Baby’s “Woah.” Migos’ “Give No Fxk” f/Travis Scott gains another 260 spins and is now at #17. They had an impressive first week with Lil Yachty’s “Oprah’s Bank Account” f/Drake. He is up 280 spins and already inside the Top 50.

Meanwhile, Geffen’s Lee L’Heureux has Rod Wave’s “Heart on Ice” up 275 spins as it enters the Top 20. It’s now Top 5 at Urban as well! J.I. The Prince of NY’s “Need Me” enters the Top 50, gaining 120 spins. It looks to be a few weeks away from a debut.
