CROSSOVER
THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

I want to start this week by congratulating the entire Def Jam promotion squad for the job they did with Logic f/Alessia Cara & Khalid’s “1-800-273-8255,” which went #1 this week at Top 40. Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer, Keith Rothschild, Nicki Farag and everyone involved. This is a special record, from the message to the passion of his fans. Rhythm had a phenomenal run with the record as well. There were definitely some skeptics out there, but the Def Jam crew put their blinders on, and the rest is history. They also continue to build Jay-Z f/Damian Marley’s “Bam” (Roc Nation). It was up triple-digits again this week. 2 Chainz f/Travis Scott’s “4AM” comes in at #38, up 85 spins.

Columbia’s Ayelet Schiffman and James White take it back old-school style with a track from NERD entitled “Lemon,” featuring Rihanna. They dropped it on 11/1 and it’s really creating a buzz. The range of stations who are already supporting span from KPWR Los Angeles to WJMN Boston to KKFR Phoenix and many stations in between. It will debut this coming week. They also have Calvin Harris f/Kehlani & Lil Yachty’s “Faking It” already inside the Top 25, thanks to a 450-spin increase. They debut Russ’ “Wife You Up” this week. He comes in at #37, up an impressive 475 spins.

Republic’s Gary Spangler and Davey Dee continue to hold down the #1 spot with Post Malone’s “rockstar.” It was up over 500 spins, which is quite impressive. It looks like it'll hold for at least another week. J Balvin & Willy Williams f/Beyoncé’s “Mi Gente” (PW/UMLE) is still growing as well. It’s at #4 this week, after adding 400 spins to the total. Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” (Hollywood/Safehouse/Island) is connecting at the format, as she moves to #19, gaining 240 spins. The Weeknd’s “Die For You” (XO) is up 225 spins, and is picking up steam. Post Malone’s other track, “I Fall Apart,” leaps #35-27, after an increase of over 400 spins. Taylor Swift’s “...Ready For It” (Big Machine) closes in on a debut, as she’s up over 100 spins and is now at #46. Trinidad Cardona’s “Jennifer” (Run-It-Up/Island) is still developing. They're impacting Big Sean & Metro Boomin f/21 Savage’s “Pull Up N Wreck” (BPG/RVG) 11/14.

RCA’s Inca and Lori G see G-Eazy f/A$AP Rocky & Cardi B’s “No Limit” climb to #6, gaining an amazing 870 spins. This is looking more and more like the next #1 record. They also have Goldlink’s “Crew” (Squaaash Club) at #9, up 240 spins, as well as Chris Brown’s “Questions” at #11, up 125 spins. Miguel f/Travis Scott’s “Sky Walker” (Bystorm Ent.) lands at #21, adding 260 more spins, and SZA’s “The Weekend” is up 250 spins, good enough for #33 this week. They debut Marshmello X Khalid’s “Silence” (Joytime Collective) at #40 this week, and will debut A$AP Ferg’s “Plain Jane” (Polo Grounds) next week. That was up 170 spins at #43 this week.

The debut of the week comes compliments of Capitol’s Greg Marella and Dixie Tipton. Migos f/Nicki Minaj & Cardi B’s “Motorsport” (Quality Control/Motown) was up 740 spins, and comes in at #35. As for Sam Smith's "Too Good at Goodbyes," they just miss debuting as it falls one spot short at #41.

Epic’s Sujit Kundu sees Travis Scott’s “Butterfly Effect” (Grand Hustle) move #14-12, up 145 spins. 21 Savage’s “Bank Account” (Slaughter Gang) is at #16, with a 95-spin increase. Camila Cabello f/Young Thug’s “Havana” (SYCO) is red-hot, as it shoots #25-18, gaining 615 spins. Busta Rhymes f/Vybz Kartel & Tory Lanez’s “Girlfriend” (The Conglomerate) lands at #48 this week, thanks to a triple-digit increase.
