Wow. Just WOW. That Super Bowl was insane. Depending on who you were routing for, I can’t imagine a bigger swing in emotion. Atlanta, at one point, was up 25 points. Twenty-five points in a game like that should be a foregone conclusion—you can hit the sack in the third quarter and rest easy knowing that game is over. But we are talking about Tom Brady and New England Patriots. This is a team that continues to defy human logic. Brady is now, without a doubt, the greatest quarterback in NFL history. When it is all said and done, will Drake go down as the greatest ever? He certainly has been the last few years. He remains at the top again this week with “Fake Friends.”
Gary Spangler Davey Dee at Republic have three other records currently in the Top 10: Amine’s “Caroline” at #3, The Weeknd f/Daft Punk’s “I Feel It Coming” (XO) at #9, and his other track “Party Monster” at #10. Ariana Grande f/Future’s “Everyday” was up over 200 spins, and they debut Marian Hill’s “Down” (Photo Finish) at #37, gaining 380 spins. Sean Paul’s “No Lie” (Island) moves up to #43, and Post Malone’s “Congratulations” sees an increase of 320 spins, which moves it to #46. Look for this to debut this coming week. They are impacting MiC Lowry’s “Oh Lord” this week.
RCA’s Inca and Lori G have some records firing on all cylinders, as Chris Brown f/Usher and Gucci Mane’s “Party” slides #15-11, gaining 525 spins. Khalid’s “Location” lands at #23, thanks to another solid increase of 275 spins, and G-Eazy’s “Some Kind Of Drug” increases another 270 spins, which puts him at #27 on the chart. They just impacted Luke Christopher’s “Lot to Learn.”
Columbia’s Ayelet Schiffman and James White have The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” (Disruptor) up another 285 spins, which puts them at #26 this week. Top 40 is on fire, and the sales are there as well. Russ’ “Losin’ Control” debuts this week at #37. It was up over 400 spins, and is one of the bigger buzz records out there.
Over at Def Jam, Rick Sackheim and Noah Sheer take Big Sean’s “Bounce Back” (G.O.O.D.) inside the Top 5. It was up 560 spins, and shows no signs of slowing down. Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) is at #6 this week. Big Sean’s “Moves” (G.O.O.D.) adds another 200 spins to his total, and climbs to #32 this week. His album is creating a huge buzz. They just impacted Bibi Bourelly’s “Ballin’,” and it comes in at #59 on the chart.
Sujit Kundu and Epic welcome Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps” (Grand Hustle) into the Top 20 this week. It was up 320 spins. Future’s “Used To This” was up 115 spins, and is at #28. DJ Esco f/Future & Lil Uzi Vert’s “Too Much Sauce” continues to develop, as it sees another 40 spins added to his total. Swift’s “Pull Up” is just getting started. They are impacting Rick Ross’ “I Think She Likes Me” this week, and setting up a new 21 Savage’s “No Heart” for the near future.
Nick P and Glassnote continue to build Childish Gambino’s “Redbone.” It is #50 on the chart, up another 70 spins. Quality stations continue to come on board.
