It took 14 weeks to make it on the chart, but four months later, Rihanna “Needed Me” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) scratches and claws its way to #1. Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness at Def Jam did a tremendous job of plodding and letting records ahead of them run their course before putting the hammer down. They also have YG f/Drake “Why You Always Hatin” at #19, up a cool 250 spins, as well as Kanye West f/Kid Cudi “Father Stretch My Hands” (Roc-A-Fella/G.O.O.D.) at #26, gaining an additional 120 spins. They are impacting Logic “Flexicution” this week.

Epic’s Sujit Kundu takes DJ Khaled f/Drake “For Free” (We The Best) top 5 this week, after a 625 spin increase. Fifth Harmony “All In My Head (Flex)” (SYCO) is at #14, gaining 250 spins, and DJ Khaled f/Jay Z “I Got The Keys” climbs to #20 after gaining an additional 390 spins. Future “Wicked” adds 225 spins to his total, and is at #25. Young Thug & Travis Scott f/Quavo “Pick Up The Phone” just misses the chart at #41, and was up 115 spins. They are impacting Jidenna “Little Bit More” this week.

Republic’s Gary Spangler, Davey Dee and Stef Cole take Drake “Controlla” (YMCMB) inside the top 5, as they add on 625 spins to his total. They are eying #1 in a few short weeks. They also have T.I. f/Marsha Ambrosius “Dope” (Grand Hustle) at #17, and Marc E. Bassy f/G-Eazy “You And Me” at #18, up 290 spins. Ariana Grande “Into You” rockets to #27, gaining 330 spins, and Drake f/Rihanna “Too Good” comes in at #30. Nick Jonas f/Ty Dolla $ign “Bacon” (Island) had a great initial week, as it gets 250 spins, and lands at #48. It should debut this coming week. Kungs & Cookin’ On 3 Burners “This Girl” (Sound of Barclay) is just getting started, and up triple digits. They are impacting that as well as Belly f/ Kehlani “You” (Roc Nation).

Columbia’s Ayelet Schiffman and James White have Calvin Harris f/Rihanna “This Is What You Came For” (Westbury Road) moving up to #6, thanks to a 510 spin increase. They also have Beyonce “Sorry” (Parkwood) at #8, which gains 225 spins. Adele “Send My Love” (XL) climbs to #45, up 80 spins. The record continues to grow at top 40, and shows all the signs of being a true hit.

RCA’s Inca and Lori G have their hands full, as G-Eazy moves to #12, with an increase of 165 spins. Usher f/Young Thug “No Limit” is now top 15, as it sees a 475 spin increase. Sia “Cheap Thrills” (Monkey Puzzle) increases by more than 300 spins, and moves to #23. It is now officially #1 at Top 40, and that momentum has definitely carried over to Rhythm. Kid Ink f/Jeremih & Spice “Nasty” comes in at #39, Chris Brown “Grass Ain’t Greener” is at #42, and Bryson Tiller “Sorry Not Sorry” comes in at #50, gaining 130 spins. They are impacting Ayo Jay “Your Number” this week.

Dixie Tipton at Capitol continues to build and develop Niykee Heaton “Bad Intentions” (Awesomeness). She continues to get new stations each week, and it is at #28.
