While out on the West Coast the last week, I had the pleasure of attending Super Bowl 50. The last time I attended this game was back in 2000 when the Baltimore Ravens dismantled the New York Giants. This one was not as dynamic and ended up being more of a defensive struggle, but it was still amazing to see Payton Manning win, especially as such an underdog. The halftime show was pretty amazing as well. Beyoncé and Bruno Mars really did an outstanding job, and Lady Gaga was very moving with the National Anthem—I always forget just how powerful a voice she has. Congrats Broncos nation, and good luck next year to Cam and the Carolina Panthers.

Speaking of winning, Team RCA is very familiar with the concept, and that’s evident with G-Eazy f/Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I,” which jumps #8-4, gaining 565 spins. They also have Bryson Tiller‘s “Don’t” at #11, increasing 330 spins. Chris Brown’s “Back to Sleep” is inside the Top 15 after a 200+ spin increase. Kid Ink’s “Promise” continues to grow, posting a 290-spin gain. They’re just a week into ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK,” but it’s already up 125 spins and just grabbed iHeart On The Verge. This record is surging at Top 40, which should certainly help speed up the success at Rhythm. Plus, his iTunes sales are consistently inside the Top 5 since it dropped.

Republic’s Gary Spangler, Davey Dee and Stef Cole have The Weeknd’s “In The Night” (XO) at #2. Belly’s “Might Not” (CP/Roc Nation) sees a 290-spin jump, and lands at #21, while Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) takes the leap from #40 to 32. Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” (YMCMB) sees a 350+ spin gain in its first week, but just misses charting at #44. There’s still no word on whether or not this is his next official single. Post Malone’s “Too Young” is just getting started, and they’re impacting Zendaya f/Chris Brown’s “Something New” this week.


Def Jam is on point with Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” which moves #9-7 and up 470 spins. Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness have also made Rihanna f/Drake’s “Work” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) this week’s Greatest Gainer, with a massive 1365-spin gain; it’s already #15! Not far behind is Jeremih’s “Oui” at #17, up 170 spins. DJ Mustard f/Travis Scott’s “Whole Lotta Lovin” (Roc Nation) just misses debuting this week, coming in at #42. It was up 125 spins. Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” is growing well and moves to #58, increasing 120 spins.

Columbia’s Ayelet Schiffman and James White have The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses at #13 (Disruptor), up 195 spins. They also debut The Internet’s “Girl” (Odd Future) at #36. The latter was up 170 spins and continues to pick up new believers while rotations increase each week. Adele’s “When We Were Young” (XL) slides in to #45, up 145 spins, and looks to debut this coming week. They’re impacting J. Cole’s “Love Yourz” (Roc Nation) this week so look out for another thought-provoking track synonymous with his style and appeal.

Dixie Tipton and Team Capitol impact OG Maco’s “Do What It Do” (QC/Motown) this week. She also has Tori Kelly’s “Hollow” at #27.


Epic’s Sujit Kundu continues the success of Yo Gotti’s “Down in the DM” (CMG) with the song at #12, up 215 spins. Mack Wilds’ “Love in the 90z” is still building at #60, up 20 spins. They’re impacting Zara Larsson f/MNEK’s “Never Forget You” this week.

Lee L’Heureux at Warner Bros. has Jason Derulo’s “Get Ugly” (Beluga Heights) at #16 this week, as well as Majid Jordan’s “Something About You” (OVO Sound) at #22. It was up 145 spins this week and continues to build in the right direction.
