CROSSOVER
THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

Adele, Part Two: “Hello” (XL/Columbia) debuts on the Rhythm chart this week at #32 with an increase of 470 spins. The track was also up 4685 spins at Top 40, and sales continue to be otherworldly, as do the Vevo views, Shazam stats, etc. I honestly don’t know where the ceiling is on this single, but with nearly instant #1 research at KIIS-FM in L.A. and support from Urban stations like V-103 in Atlanta, it seems like the sky’s the limit. Ayelet Schiffman and James White also have Dej Loaf f/Big Sean’s “Back Up” climbing inside the Top 15, gaining 350 spins, while J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” (Roc Nation) continues to build, moving #19-#16 with an increase of 240 spins. They’re impacting The Chainsmokers f/ROZES’ “Roses” next week; that moves to #53, up 75 spins.

Def Jam’s Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness have two records inside the Top 5 with Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” (RBMG) at #4, up 280 spins, and Alessia Cara’s “Here” at #5, up 710 spins. The new Bieber single, “Sorry,” meanwhile, leaps #30-#22, adding 640 spins. 2 Chainz’s “Watch Out” just misses the chart again, landing at #44 with an increase of 190 spins. Rick Ross f/Chris Brown’s “Sorry” ascends to #51, while Jeezy’s “Sweet Life” is just getting started, coming in at #75.

Ariana Grande: "Focus" on her.

Gary Spangler, Davey Dee, and Stef Cole at Republic still own the #1 record in the land with Drake’s “Hotline Bling” (YMCMB). They have a new record from The Weeknd, “In the Night” (XO), dropping next week, and that artist is still red-hot off three previous #1 records. Post Malone’s “White Iverson” slides into the #7 position this week, gaining 420 spins. The biggest debut this week is also a Republic record; Ariana Grande’s “Focus” lands at #27, while ramping up 784 spins. Dawin f/Silento’s “Dessert” (Casablanca) is up 150 spins and comes in at #34. They’re impacting Drake f/Future’s “Jumpman” (YMCMB/A1/Epic) this week and it’s already charted, debuting at #38 thanks to an increase of 215 spins. Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (Island), however, just misses the chart at #41.

Team RCA has Chris Brown’s “Zero” at #11 and knocking on the door of the Top 10. John Strazza, Inca and Lori G also have Tinashe f/Chris Brown’s “Player” moving #22-18 with an added 470 spins. Bryson Tiller’s “Don’t” is impacting this week; that one’s already at #46, up triple-digits in spins and sitting Top 15 at Urban.

Sujit Kundu and Epic have done a fantastic job of taking Future f/Drake’s “Where Ya At” (A1/Freebandz/Epic) inside the Top 10, as it rises to #9 this week, up 370 spins. Sujit also has Travi$ Scott’s “Antidote” (Grand Hustle) at #20, up another 280 spins, while Meghan Trainor f/John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” lands at #37, up 100 spins. Epic is currently setting up Yo Gotti’s “Down in the DM” for a 11/30 impact.

RECORDS Christina Chiappetta has Nelly f/Jeremih’s “The Fix”—at #8 this week, up another 140 spins—and ILOVEMEMPHIS’ “Hit the Quan” (Palmtree/RushHour), which jumps #15-12, adding on 260 spins.
