Stop the presses: We have a new #1 record—on a different label. Republic’s Gary Spangler and Davey Dee take Nicki Minaj f/ Drake and Lil Wayne’s “Truffle Butter” to the top of the chart this week, gaining 720 spins. They are also pushing Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih’s “Somebody” towards the top as she moves to #6, increasing 630 spins. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” has a spectacular week, gaining 540 spins and climbing #14-11. Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” moves into the Top 20 and tacks on another 420 spins, while Kaylin & Myles’ “Trampoline” gathers an additional 245 spins. Taylor Swift’s “Style” continues to build, up 90 spins. Drake’s “How About Now” slides to #31, securing another 130 plays. Nick Jonas’ “Chains” comes in at #42, adding 280 spins; it will most certainly have a high debut this coming week.
Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia are looking to make a big splash with the Snoop Dogg’s “Peaches and Cream” today. The impact date is next week, but immediate airplay will surely start now. They also move J. Cole’s “Apparently” into the Top 10, gaining 135 spins. Calvin Harris f/ Big Sean’s “Open Wide” is at #23 and up 90 spins, and they debut T.I. f/Chris Brown’s “Private Show” at #35 this week, increasing 160 spins. Calvin Harris f/ Ellie Goulding’s “Outside” moves to #37, while TK & Cash’s “Mind Right” is at #44 and looking to debut this coming week.
Def Jam’s Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer, and Scott Maness have Rihanna/Kanye/Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” moving to #7 this week, adding 435 spins. Big Sean f/ Drake and Kanye’s “Blessings” is at #19, with an increase of 380 spins. Ludacris f/ Miguel’s “Good Lovin’” has been a labor of love for the team, and it had its best week on the chart to date, up 215 spins with new stations continuing to climb aboard each week. The biggest news of all for Def Jam is Kanye West’s “All Day,” which debuts at #40 after less than a week of airplay and is up an amazing 625 spins (it’s a Shazam monster too). Logic’s “Buried Alive” and Jeremih’s “Planes” are bubbling up under the chart and still building a profile.
RCA’s John Strazza, Inca and Lori G have Pitbull’s “Time Of Our Lives” at #2 this week, posting up an additional 140 spins, but jumped for the top spot by Minaj. Chris Brown & Tyga’s “Ayo” has another impressive week as it rises into the #4 position, up 365 spins. Kid Ink f/ Chris Brown’s “Hotel” gathers another 250 spins, up to #18 this week. Tinashe’s “All Hands On Deck” which impacted last week, was up 370 spins and is sure to debut this coming week. Look for another Mark Ronson track in the near future, coming off his multi-format smash.
WB’s Lee L’Heureux just dropped the brand new Jason Derulo “Want To Want Me”, and going for adds on it next week. The song is another multiformat winner from Jason, sounding like the typical formula that reacts and sells.
Sujit Kundu and the Epic Squad take Ciara’s “I Bet” to #30 and Casey Veggies f/YG & IAMSU’s “Backflip” to #36, while Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” climbs to #47 and Jidenna “Classic Man” sits at #51. They are impacting Future “Commas” this week.
Bob Weil and RAL posted a great week on Jordin Sparks f/2 Chainz’s “Double Tap,” which was among the most added last week. It continues to build, already starting to Shazam in markets where it’s getting airplay.
