CROSSOVER
And just like that, DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” is the new #1 record. Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia have their fourth chart-topping single of the year, and it’s not even June yet… On the building chart, Iggy Azalea has the #1 position squarely in her sights for next week with “Fancy” (Def Jam). Last year was not as much of a musical-chairs situation, with artists like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Justin Timberlake holding the top spot for weeks on end. Columbia also has Calvin Harris’ “Summer” at #22, up 170 spins, and debuts Pharrell Williams’ “Come Get It Bae” at #37. They’re growing Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” and are impacting Beyoncé’s “Pretty Hurts” in the next few weeks… Glassnote’s Childish Gambino moves #17-16 with “3005,” which gains another 270 spins this week. Nick P and staff have the record poised to go to the next level, as they close out the remaining hold outs and solidify bigger rotations… As I said, Def Jam will have Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” in the top spot next week. Meanwhile, YG f/Drake’s “Who Do You Love” will officially hit Top 10, increasing over 250 spins. Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness also have August Alsina’s “Numb” at #27 and are impacting Jeremih f/YG’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em” in the next few weeks… Gary Spangler and Davey Dee at Republic have Ariana Grande f/Iggy Azalea’s “Problem” vaulting #14-9 and increasing 740 spins this week. They have Lil Wayne f/Drake’s “Believe Me” jumping #28-21, up 575 spins, Adrian Marcel’s “2AM” at #23, Sage the Gemini’s “College Drop” at #35 and DJ Khaled’s “They Don’t Love You No More” looking to chart in the next two weeks… John Strazza, Inca and Lori G take Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” #9-7 this week, up over 300 spins. Tinashe f/ScHoolboy Q’s “2 On” moves to #14, and Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Main Chick” hits #15. In addition, they have Usher’s “Good Kisser” on the fast track, moving #21-19 and up 475 spins, while Magic!’s “Rude” goes #36-32 this week. This record has a tremendous buzz and is flying up the charts at Pop. Finally, they have Becky G’s “Shower,” which is just under the chart… Sujit Kundu and team Epic just continue to build Future f/Pharrell’s “Move That Doh” (#20 this week), as well as Kat Dahlia’s “Crazy,” which is at #24 and up over 150 spins. TeeFlii’s “24 Hours” will debut this coming week, and they impact Yo Gotti f/Rich Homie Quan’s “I Know” this week… Lee L’Heureux at Warner Bros. has Jason Derulo f/Snoop Dogg’s “Wiggle” headed in the right direction, as it moves #19-17, up 587 spins. He also has Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong” on the real-time chart; it’ll debut this coming week. The sales on both tracks are over 100k a week now.
