CROSSOVER
Before I get into music, HITS would like to congratulate Mark “ In The Dark” Shands, who was recently appointed the Program Director/Operations Manager of WHZT/WJMZ/97.7 CHUCK FM/X98.5 in Greenville S.C. He has been in the business for a number of years and has worked in Miami, Charlotte, and New Orleans. Reach out to him for musical questions pertaining to WHZT at (864) 235-1073 | Email: [email protected] Also, look for a major announcement from Program Director Buster Satterfield at WRDW this week. There is going to once again be a mad scramble for the coveted #1 position this coming week. Columbia’s DJ Snake and Lil Jon “Turn Down For What” and Def Jam’s Iggy Azalea “Fancy” are both motoring their way to the top. Iggy leaps 7-4 this week, and increases 692 spins. Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer, and Scott Maness are also impacting a new Mariah today (Tuesday) entitled “Thirsty”. They also have Jhene Aiko “The Worst” at #9, YG “Who Do You Love” f/ Drake at #14, August Alsina “Numb” at #27, as well as debuting the Rick Ross “Thug Cry” f/ Lil Wayne this week at #37. Columbia records also has a few new tracks impacting this week. Ayelet Schiffman and James White have Pharrell “Come Get It Bae”, as well as a new Beyonce entitled “Pretty Hurts” on Wednesday. It’s never a bad thing to have 2 superstar artists coming same week! They also have DJ Snake “Turn Down For What” at #3, Beyonce “Partition” at #5, Calvin Harris “Summer” moving 27-23, and Rita Ora “I Will Never Let You Down” just getting started. Gary Spangler and Davey Dee at Republic take Young Money “Trophies” f/ Drake into the top 10 this week, landing at #8. They also have red hot Ariana Grande “Problem” f/ Iggy Azalea shooting 30-19, and gaining 921 spins, Adrian Marcel “2AM” at #22 and up triple digits, and SoMo “Show Off” at #35. They are looking to debut the Sage The Gemini “College Drop” this coming week, and they are impacting Lil Wayne “Believe Me” f/ Drake, which will have a huge debut this coming week as well. RCA continues their winning ways as they have Justin Timberlake “Not A Bad Thing” at #12, Kid Ink “Main Chick” at #16, and Tinashe “2 On” at #17, with all being up over 200 spins. They also have Pitbull “Wild Wild Love” at #31, and own the biggest debut this week with Usher “Good Kisser” at #33, gaining nearly 800 spins! I have mentioned this record before, but you owe it to yourself to pay close attention to the Magic! “Rude” record. It will debut this coming week, and is already on the pop chart. There is something special about this record. Sujit Kundu and Epic are still making moves with the Future “Move That Doh” f/ Pharrell. It is at #20 this week, and grabs a few new commitments. They also have Kat Dhalia “Crazy”, which moves inside the top 25 this week and is up over 100 spins. This week, they impact the TeeFlii “24 Hours” track, which is sure to be in the most added column. Lee L’Heureux at WB is having tremendous early success with Jason Derulo “Wiggle” f/ Snoop Dogg. It leaps 35-25 this week, with an increase of 428 spins. He is also starting to hand pick some stations for Nico & Vinz “Am I Wrong”. It is powering up the pop charts, and looks to cross over in the next 3 to 4 weeks. Nick P and the staff at Glassnote continue to grind the Childish Gambino “V.3005”. It was up another 264 spins this week, and continues to pick up new commitments and rotation increases every week. The cream certainly appears to be rising to the top!
