CROSSOVER
It’s another week, and another #1 record. John Strazza, Inca and Lori G of RCA have the view from the top this week with Chris Brown f/ Lil Wayne’s “Loyal.” Over the last six months it seems like there have been more #1 records holding that position for only one or two weeks, rather than really locking themselves in. Strazza and company also have Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” surging #16-12 and gaining 440 spins, Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Main Chick” at #23 and up 234 spins, Tinashe f/ScHoolboy Q’s “2 On” at #24, increasing 265 spins, and Pitbull f/GRL’s “Wild Wild Love” at #33. Also be on the lookout for Magic!’s “Rude.” It debuted at Pop this week and is grabbing new Rhythm stations each week. This is going to be a great spring/summer record… Def Jam is having quite a run right now, as they now have both Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” (#9) and Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst” (#10) inside the Top 10. Iggy was the #1 Most Increased record, and Jhene is the #4 Most Increased. Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness also have YG f/Drake’s “Who Do You Love” vaulting #21-17 and gaining over 200 spins, August Alsina’s “Numb” at #30 and Rick Ross f/Lil Wayne’s “Thug Cry” just outside the chart… Nick P and Glassnote continue the job they started before the holiday break last year with Childish Gambino’s “3005.” It moves #29-26 this week, up 175 spins, and is on pace to have its best week yet. New commitments include KXJM Portland, KSFM Sacramento, WNRG Milwaukee, WWKX Providence, and KPEZ Austin, plus increases and new rotations… Columbia still has four records in the Top 10: John Legend’s “All of Me” at #2, Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” at #5, Beyoncé’s “Partition” at #6, and up over 200 spins, and DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” at #7, with an increase of 425 spins. Ayelet Schiffman and James White also have Calvin Harris’ “Summer” at #29, still growing nicely. They’re impacting Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” in a few weeks and hosting a listening party for radio as presstime. Get ready for a new T.I. track, as well as a new one from Pharrell… Gary Spangler and Davey Dee are making quick work of Ariana Grande f/Iggy Azalea’s new track, “Problem.” It’s on pace to be Most Added this week, and there’s great buzz developing. Republic also has Young Money f/Drake’s “Trophies” at #11, gaining 225 spins, and Adrian Marcel’s “2AM” at #27. They debut SoMo’s “Show Off” at #39… Epic records has its mojo working, as Sujit Kundu and staff have Future f/Pharrell Williams’ “Move That Doh” leaping #24-19, up 270 spins! They also have Kat Dahlia’s “Crazy” at #28, and debut Bando Jonez’s “Sex Me” at #36. They’re releasing a new Michael Jackson record, “Love Never Felt So Good,” to radio this Friday. Also, they’ve got two big buzz records in Snootie Wild’s “Ayo” and TeeFlii’s “24 Hours.” Both are already gathering new stations and airplay, and impact in the next few weeks. They also just signed We Are Toonz with “Drop That #NaeNae.” It’s going to be a busy spring for them… Lee L’Heureux and Warner Bros. have Jason Derulo f/Snoop Dogg’s “Wiggle” a week away from charting. They have double-digit commitments again this week, as well as rotation increases.
