CAA HAS NIGHT FEVER FOR GIBB
3/9/20

CAA has signed Sir Barry Gibb for representation in all areas worldwide.

Gibb, the British singer, songwriter and producer best known as the frontman and co-founder of the Bee Gees, has a career spanning more than 60 years, has won nine Grammys and has two Golden Globe nominations. He is one of the only singers in the world who has had a #1 record for five consecutive decades.

Gibb is a knighted member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). As a songwriter, he has written #1 hits for Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross and Olivia Newton-John, among others. Gibb also wrote “Grease,” the title song for the film of the same name in 1978, which quickly became a #1 single. Gibb plans to further his songwriting success by continuing to write songs for major feature films.

As part of the Bee Gees, Gibb and his brothers, Maurice and Robin Gibb, have sold 220m records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time. The band formed in 1960 with Barry and Robin alternating on lead vocals, while harmonizing with Maurice. Upon the release of their album Bee Gee’s 1st in 1967, the group achieved international success.

Gibb and his brothers were commissioned to write and record the songs for the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. Upon its release in November 1977, it became the best-selling soundtrack of all time, and was certified 16x Platinum, selling more than 54 million copies worldwide. It remains one of the best-selling albums in history.
