ZOMBIES SIGN LICENSING DEAL
PRIOR TO ODESSEY TOUR
2/7/17

The Zombies, who will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Odessey and Oracle with a spring tour across North America, have signed a comprehensive brand representation deal with Artist Legacy Group.

Under the new pact, ALG will coordinate license extension and branding opportunities for The Zombies’ name, likeness, band logo, album artwork and lyrics to their biggest hit singles, including “She’s Not There,” “Tell Her No” and “Time of the Season.”

"The Zombies are one of the most revered bands in rock history,” ALG’s Chief Operating Officer Scott Austin said. “Their iconic name, imagery, lyrics and song titles have evergreen pop culture relevance and we are honored to work with Colin, Rod and their teams to pursue brand extension opportunities that befit the band’s legendary status."

The spring trek across the U.S. and Canada, which will continue to England and Europe later in the year, includes the final full-album performances of Odessey and Oracle reuniting all four surviving members of the group: Colin Blunstone on lead vocals, Rod Argent on keyboards/vocals, Chris White on bass/vocals, and drummer Hugh Grundy.

Odessey and Oracle was recorded at Abbey Studios in the summer of 1967 right after another British band wrapped up something called Sgt. Pepper’s. It was released in April 1968, four months after the band broke up.

The Zombies, re-formed since 2004, are also celebrating their recent release Still Got That Hunger.

“The world knows them for their timeless hit songs, but the public is just now discovering the tremendous impact The Zombies have quietly made on music and culture over five decades,” said Cindy da Silva, who manages the band with Chris Tuthill.

In May, to celebrate the album’s 50th, Reel Art Press/BMG Books will release the book The Odessey: The Zombies in Words and Images, which has contributions from Brian Wilson, Tom Petty, Graham Nash and Susanna Hoffs.

The 50th anniversary tour starts 3/17 in Philadelphia and includes shows at New York’s Town Hall on 3/25, the James K. Polk Theater in Nashville on 4/9 and The Theater at Ace Hotel in L.A. on 4/29.
