TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS: THE WHOLE ENCHILADA, ON VINYL
10/25/16

We’re geeking out over a pair of just-announced vinyl box sets from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Complete Studio Albums Vols. 1 & 2, occasioned by the 40th anniversary of this great American rock & roll band’s self-titled debut album—y’know, the one with “American Girl” and “Breakdown” on it—originally released on Denny Cordell’s Shelter label. The companion box—the first from UMe and the second on Reprise, round up the entire TP&HBs and Petty studio-album discographies.

Several of these LPs have been out of print on vinyl for some time now, and all of them have either been newly remastered or remastered during the last five years. Every title in the limited-edition box sets will get the 180-gram vinyl treatment, with artwork replicating the original 12x12 packages. The price of each is $259.99; they can be preordered at TomPetty.com.

The Complete Studio Albums Volume 1 (1976-1991), containing the first nine LPs, will be released on 12/9.
