SCORSESE'S DYLAN DOC EXPANDED
FOR 10TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING
8/25/16

The new center of the Bob Dylan universe will open its first-ever first Dylan On Film festival with the world premiere of a 10th anniversary edition of Martin Scorsese’s Grammy-winning Dylan doc No Direction Home. The screening takes place 9/21 at the University of Tulsa where the Bob Dylan Archive is housed.

The new version adds 90 minutes to the 225-minute running time by including full-length interviews with Scorsese, Dave Van Ronk and Liam Clancy.

The screening coincides with the first public exhibition of archive items. Titled The Ghost Of Electricity, it includes handwritten lyrics to “Maggie’s Farm,” “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and “Visions of Johanna,” his leather jacket from the 1965 the Newport Folk Festival and the typescript of his novel Tarantula.

The Dylan On Film festival will include screenings of Murray Lerner’s Festival!, D.A. Pennebaker’s Dont Look Back and 65 Revisited, and Dylan’s own Eat The Document. A program of rare and never-before-seen performances spanning 1963 to 2003 will be shown on 9/24.
