ELVIS DIED 39 YEARS AGO TODAY
8/16/16

Today is the 39th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley at the age of 42. As usual, it’s the final day of the annual Elvis week and last night’s vigil for the King met up with protesters from the Black Lives Matter movement.

For more musical celebrations, Sony Legacy compiled a collection of Presley’s last recordings, all done in Graceland’s “Jungle Room.” We’re sitting back and enjoying an obscurity penned by Scott Kempner, and sung by Syd Straw backed by The Del-Lords.
