While we’ve been down here watching the ultimate reality show with growing dread, the Canadians have been behaving with characteristic civility, even in heavy concentrations of humanity such as last weekend’s third annual Pemberton Music Festival.
The picturesque gathering at the Whistler ski resort outside of Vancouver drew a record crowd of 180k from Thursday through Sunday to experience the stylings of an eclectic array of acts including Pearl Jam, The Killers, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg, The Chainsmokers, Kaskade, DJ Snake, Ice Cube, FKA Twigs, The Savages, Thievery Corporation, Grace Potter, The London Souls, Børns and, no kidding, Cheech and Chong. The previous record was 115k.
And the double rainbow that magically appeared over the site was not computer-generated, we’ve been assured.
