Ron Howard’s documentary on The Beatles’ early years has a release date—9/16— and its first trailer. Hulu will be the presenting partner for the theatrical release of the film in the U.S., and will begin streaming the doc on 9/17 for the streaming platform’s subscribers.
The world premiere will take place in London on 9/15, and will open theatrically in the U.K. France and Germany that day, Australia and New Zealand on 9/16 and Japan on 9/22.
The Beatles: Eight Days A Week—The Touring Years is based on the first part of The Beatles’ career, 1962-1966, focusing on how they made decisions, created music and built their career together. The film’s focus is on live performances from The Cavern Club in Liverpool to their last concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in 1966.
It is the first feature film to debut on Hulu following its theatrical premiere. Richard Abramowitz’s Abramorama will handle the U.S. theatrical release of the film; Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment, Nigel Sinclair and Guy East’s White Horse Pictures and The Beatles’ Apple Corps Ltd. are the producers.
