It takes a village to break a band and Black Country, New Road prove that in this photo op. From left in the front are band members May Kershaw and Georgia Ellery, and Transgressive’s Tim Dellow and Toby L. In the back, from left, are Rachel Gardiner of Transgressive, ATC Management’s Dan McEvoy, band members Lewis Evans and Tyler Hyde, Natalia Pages of Transgressive, band members Luke Mark and Charlie Wayne in the hedge, and Transgressive’s Rishi Saluja, Lilas Bourboulon, Mike Harounoff and Klara Weiss.
Warner Chappell Music U.K. and Transgressive Publishing have renewed their partnership following the recent re-signing of Foals and new deals with Black Country, New Road and HotWax.
The extension of the partnership, now in its 17th year, marks the JV as the longest-standing in WCM’s history.
Foals’ new deal with Transgressive is for their catalog, side projects and future recordings. Hastings trio HotWax have joined the roster after being tipped as a breakthrough act for 2023. Black Country, New Road join in the midst of a sold-out world tour following a Glastonbury performance and two Top 5 albums, one of which was a Mercury Prize nominee.
Transgressive and WCM’s JV also includes Loyle Carner, Marika Hackman and Odetta Hartman, plus catalog hits from Two Door Cinema Club, Noisettes and Mystery Jets.
WCM UK MD Shani Gonzales said of Transgressive founders/partners Tim Dellow, Toby L and Lilas Bourboulon: “They’ve got great music instincts and are always huge fun to work with. I look forward to celebrating many more successes with them.”
Toby L, naturally “delighted to extend the partnership,” added: “It can often prove rare to find creative and cultural alignment in the music industry, but for almost two decades we’ve found not just common ground but excellent results alongside the worldwide team of Warner Chappell since the formation of Transgressive Publishing.”
