U.K. AGENCY ACT TO WATCH: PIP MILLETT (CAA)
12/7/22

Manchester-born singer and songwriter Pip Millett cites Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley and Joni Mitchell as the biggest influences on her brand of R&B and jazz. So far, she’s released three EPs and one album and collaborated with the likes of Ghetts. Her agent at CAA, Elizabeth Holdforth, hails Millett’s “unique vocal delivery that is very rhythmic and soulful.” She continues: “She writes songs with lyrics that cover deep emotional issues including mental health and depression. Pip is a very talented modern songwriter; her songs are full of hooks and fans sing along from start to finish.”

Millett signed to CAA, where she’s looked after by Holdforth and Summer Marshall, in 2019. Describing her appeal as a live act, Holdforth says: “Vocally, Pip is a pitch-perfect, understated, soulful, sultry, cool, calm and collected performer. She has a quick wit and wins over audiences with her Mancunian charm.”

November 2021 U.K. tour dates sold out, which included two London headline shows. In November this year, Millett built on that success with a date at the 2k cap. Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Her debut album, When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know, arrived via Sony’s Dream Life Records in October. As far as singles, Millett has had support at BBC Radio 1Xtra and has enjoyed press coverage from Clash, The FADER and more. She also appeared on Vevo’s DSCVR Artists to Watch list for 2022.
