U.K. CHARTS: POP PEAKS
10/14/22

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott have their second #1 as a duo on the U.K. Official Albums Chart while Sam Smith and Kim Petras claim a third week at #1 on singles.

Heaton & Abbott’s N.K-Pop (EMI) tops the albums chart today, beating competition from Easy Life, whose second LP, Maybe In Another Life… (Island), charts at #2.

Elsewhere, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE (Columbia) returns to the Top 10, rising 13 places to #7. The set has been boosted by the viral success of “Cuff It," which jumps five spots on singles to #5.

Charlie Puth has his third U.K. Top 10 with CHARLIE (Atlantic) at #9, while The Cult’s Under The Midnight Sun (Black Hill) comes in at #15. Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under (Polydor) is up 37 places to #16, due to a special anniversary repressing on vinyl.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “Unholy” (Capitol) by Smith and Petras is again leading the charge at #1.

“PSYCHO” by Aitch with Anne-Marie (Asylum) breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #9. The track is one of three featuring the British rapper in today’s Top 40: his Ed Sheeran collab, “My G,” is #14 and “Let’s Go” with Tion Wayne is #30.

Tom Odell’s “Another Love” (Sony) is up five spots to #13 after the song began trending alongside protest videos in response to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in Iran. This week’s highest new entry is “Ghost of You” (Epic) by Mimi Webb at #23.
