U.K. MIDWEEKS: GROWING OLDER
10/3/22

George Michael is leading an all-new U.K. Official Albums Top 8 at this week’s halfway point. Over on singles, David Guetta and Bebe Rexha are back on top.

The reissue of Michael’s Older (Sony Music CG) starts at #1 today, followed by Slipknot’s The End So Far (Roadrunner) at #2. The Snuts are at #3 with Burn The Empire (Parlophone), while Craig David’s 22 (BMG) hits #4. The Yeah Yeah YeahsCool It Down (Secretly Canadian) rounds out the Top 5.

Bjork is new at #6 with what could be her first Top 10 in 15 years, Fossora (One Little Independent). Pixies eye up their seventh Top 10 with Doggerel (BMG) at #7, and the 30th anniversary edition of Shakespears Sister’s Hormonally Yours (London Music Stream) is #8.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Guetta and Rexha are back in the lead as “I’m Good (Blue)” (Parlophone) looks set to unseat Sam Smith and Kim Petras from the top. The latter duo’s “Unholy” (EMI) slips to #2 today.

Beyoncé’s “Cuff It” (Columbia) looks set to enter the Top 10 for the first time at #9 thanks to a new viral trend. And Anne-Marie and Aitch’s “Psycho” (Atlantic) could break inat #10.

This week’s highest new entry belongs to Ed Sheeran’s “Celestial” (Atlantic)—the theme song for upcoming Pokémon games—at #14.
