Paulo Nutini and LF System take the #1 slots on the Official Albums and Singles Charts today, marking the first time since March 2019 that two Scottish acts have simultaneously topped the charts.

With LF System registering their first #1 with “Afraid To Feel” (Warner) and Nutini scoring his third with Last Night in the Bittersweet (Atlantic), the Scots match the feat achieved by Tom Walker’s What a Time to Be Alive and Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” 40 months ago. Nutini’s first release in eight years was also the most-purchased physical LP of the week.

Behind Nutini at #4 is the seventh studio album from Shinedown, Planet Zero (Parlophone), giving the rock band its first ever Top 5 entry. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and the late Astro are #8 with Unprecedented (UMC). Imagine Dragons score their sixth U.K. Top 40 album with Mercury – Acts 1 and 2 (Interscope) at #16.

Two catalog titles got a nice bump: The Elvis Presley compilation ELV1S – 30 NUMBER 1 HITS (RCA) reaches #12 thanks in large part to Baz Luhrmann’s film Elvis; and Adele’s 30 (Columbia) vaults 49 places to #25. 

At singles, “Afraid To Feel” from the DJ duo of Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan, aka LF System, hits #1 after a steady five-week ascent, landing on top in its sixth week on chart. Streamed 5.5m times in the U.K. this week, it’s the first dance track to hit #1 in more than a year.

Nathan Dawe f/Ella Henderson’s “21 Reasons” (Warner) rises to #10 this week as Burna Boy’s “Last Last” (Atlantic) vaults 10 places to #12. OneRepublic’s “I Ain’t Worried” (Interscope), taken from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, continues its steady ascent to a new peak this week at #21, as does Doja Cat’s “Vegas” (RCA) at#27 and Bru-C’s “No Excuses” (0207 Def Jam), which is up 12 places to #28.
