The BBC will celebrate 60 years of The Rolling Stones with a season of exclusive programming across TV, radio and digital platforms this summer. The centerpiece is a four-part series of films.

Produced by Universal Music Group’s Mercury Studios, the films, titled My Life as a Rolling Stone, tell the story of the band through the musical lens of each member. Across four hour-long episodes, intimate portraits are promised of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and the late Charlie Watts using new interviews with them (aside from Watts) and those they’ve inspired, as well as archive footage. Artists set to feature include Chrissie Hynde, Slash, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Steven Tyler.

The series will be broadcast on BBC Two and iPlayer while Mercury Studios will handle international distribution. In addition, a collection of landmark Stones concerts and documentaries will be available on iPlayer, including 2012 film, Crossfire Hurricane, and a revised version of ’95 documentary, The Rolling Stones: Totally Stripped. BBC Radio 2 will also air a two-hour audio documentary, Rolling with The Stones.
