RAPHAEL DEPARTS CAPITOL
1/11/22

Capitol U.K. Co-President Nick Raphael is exiting his post and fellow Co-President Jo Charrington is expected to be the sole leader.

Universal sources confirmed the split, which is said to be amicable, to HITS after a report in Record of the Day.

Raphael has spent more than 10 years at Universal, leading Capitol U.K. as President since it launched in 2013. Charrington was upped in 2017. The duo have enjoyed success with Sam Smith, 5 Seconds of Summer (who are now signed to Interscope) and Liam Payne as well as new acts Mae Muller, Aitch and Zoe Wees.

Prior to Capitol, Raphael led a re-launched London Records under UMG, which he joined with Charrington after the duo exited Epic Records in 2011. While at Sony, they had success across a 10-year period with acts including JLS, Olly Murs and Paloma Faith.
