WARNER UK UPS WALKER
1/10/22

Warner Music U.K. has upped Linda Walker to SVP, Commercial, U.K. and Europe. She steps into the role previously held by Derek Allen, who retired last year.

In her new role, Walker reports directly to Warner Music U.K. CEO Tony Harlow and has joined the WMUK senior management team.

She now heads up all aspects of the label’s commercial relationships with digital services and physical retailers, including those in the independent sector. She will also oversee the activity of WMUK’s Research and Analysis Department, which handles the gathering and assimilating of data for strategic purposes.

“Linda continues to bring determination, passion, and business acumen to everything she does, including her role as Co-Chair of our Women of Warner employee resource group,” Harlow said. “While Linda has already had a hand in changing our company culture for the better, I can’t wait to add her voice, passion, and wisdom to our U.K. senior management team so that we can bring about positive change even faster.”

Allen, who was SVP Commercial at Warner Music Europe, had spent almost a decade with WMUK, joining when the company acquired Parlophone Label Group and working at EMI for many years before that.

Walker joined Warner in 1990 and most recently served in the Commercial Team as VP, where she oversaw the delivery of all of music releases in the U.K. and Europe. She has been pivotal in the success of some of the U.K.’s biggest albums, including #1 records from Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Foals, Rod Stewart and The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
