8/28/21

Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR (Polydor) has reclaimed the top spot on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart thanks to its arrival on vinyl. Over on singles, Ed Sheeran has the highest new entry with “Visiting Hours” (Atlantic).

SOUR has now racked up five non-consecutive weeks at #1 and its sales total today includes 7.8k on vinyl. Rodrigo can now claim the fastest-selling debut album on vinyl by a female artist in the U.K. since 2000, overtaking Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (Polydor).

Lorde’s Solar Power (EMI) is new at #2, her strongest chart debut in the U.K. to date, while Jake Bugg is also new at #3 with Saturday Night, Sunday Morning (RCA).

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” remains at #1 for a ninth non-consecutive week. The track is now his longest-reigning #1 single since 2017’s “Shape Of You,” which spent 14 weeks at the top. His new track, “Visiting Hours,” debuts at #5.
