ED SHEERAN RETURNS
6/11/21

Ed Sheeran is returning with a new single, "Bad Habits," on 6/25. It's his first official release since 2019's U.K. #1, No.6 Collaborations Project, and was announced this morning via social media.

The promotion trail for the Atlantic single, which is accompanied by artwork featuring Sheeran as a vampire, started overnight with a string of London landmark projections of him in costume at multiple locations, including Tate Modern. Aside from non-album single "Afterglow," which arrived in December, Sheeran hasn't released new music for nearly two years.

Commenting on his comeback, Sheeran said: “I’ve been working away in the studio over recent months and I can’t wait for you to hear ‘Bad Habits.’ I always aim to push myself and my music in new directions and hopefully you’ll hear that on the new single. Feels great to be back.”

Announced last week, Sheeran will be performing live from Ipswich Town’s Portman Road on 6/25 for TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 show. The upcoming set—directed by his long-term collaborator, Emil Nava, and streaming globally on TikTok from 9pm BST—will include a host of fan favorites in addition to the first-ever live performance of "Bad Habits."
