BRITS SET CREATIVE TEAMS
2/15/21

UMG U.K. EVP Selina Webb and EMI President Rebecca Allen will head a new collaborative creative team for The BRIT Awards set to take place on 5/11.

This year, the BRITs Committee, which is made up of representatives of major and independent record labels, will lead in a collaborative fashion with more of a community feel. The award categories are also set to be shaken up to further encourage inclusivity.

The team for the 41st show includes BRITs TV executive producer Sally Wood. Visual artists, Es Devlin OBE and Yinka Ilori MBE, who will co-design the trophy this year, will lead creative direction and design.

The BRITs is still set to take place at The O2 Arena in London but, given the ongoing pandemic, the jury’s out on whether any guests will be able to attend. Allen and Webb said: "However the world is looking come May, our ambition is not for a ‘normal’ BRITs, but a show which truly reflects the spirit of the past year.” They added that the show will be about “collaboration, culture and community as well as a celebration of some of the brilliant music which is helping us all through."

The voting eligibility window will end on 3/11 while voting for the BRIT Rising Star Award will take place between 2/24 and 3/5.
