MAC LEADS ASCAP WINNERS

British songwriter and producer Steve Mac (pictured) is the top honoree at ASCAP’s virtual London Music Awards 2020 with five awards. Bastille’s Dan Smith, Lewis Capaldi and CHVRCHES are also honored.

The ceremony takes place across social media today and Thursday. Along with Smith, Mac is honored three times for the chart-topping “Happier” (by Marshmello f/Bastille) with Song of the Year, Top EDM Song and Top Streaming Song.

His fourth award also sees CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty and Iain Cook recognized for “Here with Me” as a Winning EDM Song. Mac’s final award with is for “Call You Mine” by Chainsmokers f/Bebe Rexha.

Two years after its release, Capaldi’s self-penned global smash “Someone You Loved” claimed both the Winning Hot 100 Song and Winning Streaming Song awards.

The xx’s Romy Madley Croft is also honored with a Winning EDM Song award for penning Silk City and Dua Lipa’s global smash hit “Electricity.” Two other Winning EDM Song awards went to Corey Sanders for “365” (Zedd and Katy Perry) and Samuel Gray for “Takeaway” (Chainsmokers and ILLENIUM f/Lennon Stella).
