U.K. CHARTS: QUEEN CROWNED
10/9/20

Queen + Adam Lambert have landed at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Live Around the World (EMI). Over on singles, 24kGldn’s Mood (Black Butter) claims a third week at the top.

Queen scored the most CD and download sales of the week, scoring a 10th #1 album in the U.K. and their first in nearly 25 years, while Lambert enjoys his first. The band are now level with Eminem, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart and U2 with 10 #1s apiece.

Blackpink’s The Album (Polydor) climbed up the chart fast this week, ending at #2 after a midweek peak of #6, claiming the best-selling cassette album with 5,700 copies sold in the format.

Oasis charts at #3 with the vinyl reissue of (What’s The Story?) Morning Glory (Big Brother), and Britain’s Got Talent judge turned solo artist Amanda Holden claims the U.K.’s highest-charting debut album of 2020 by a British female with Songs From My Heart (Universal) at #4.

A further four new entries enter this week’s Top 10: Bon Jovi’s 2020 (EMI) is #5, Melanie C charts at #8 with her self-titled eighth studio album, Roger Waters’ live album Us + Them (Sony Music CG) enters at #9, and Savage Mode II (Sony) from 21 Savage & Metro Boomin arrives at #10.
