Bruce Springsteen has claimed his 11th #1 on the U.K’s Official Albums Chart with Western Stars (Columbia) shifting 25k combined sales more than Madonna’s Madame X (Polydor), which settles for second place.
Of Springsteen’s total sales—a number which the OCC hasn’t published—more than 45k were on CD and vinyl, making Western Stars this year’s fastest selling album on physical formats in the U.K.
Bastille’s Doom Days (Virgin) is new at #4, followed by a 40th anniversary reissue of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures (Rhino) at #5. The album previously peaked at #71 in 1980 following the death of lead singer Ian Curtis.
