U.K. CHARTS: CAPALDI CLIMBS TO #1
3/1/19

Developing UMG act Lewis Capaldi has scored his first #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart with “Someone You Loved” (Virgin EMI) taking pole position on 58k combined sales nine weeks after it first entered the Top 100. Over on albums, Giggs is the highest new entry at #6.

Capaldi’s highest singles position to date was the #26 that previous single “Grace” charted at earlier in February; it rises to #24 today. Both songs are from his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which arrives on 5/17.

After a close battle, Calvin Harris & Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Giant” (Columbia) settles for second place, finishing 1.9k combined sales behind Lewis, while last week’s #1, “7 Rings” (Island) by Ariana Grande, slips to #4.

P!nk claims this week’s highest new entry with “Walk Me Home” (RCA) at #8, while Tom Walker’s “Just You & I” (Relentless) rises nine to #10 following his BRITs British Breakthrough win.
