Lil Dicky has scored a relatively fast rise to #1 in Blighty with “Freaky Friday” f/Chris Brown (BMG) climbing four spots to top the Official Singles Chart on 4.6m streams in the three weeks since release. Over on albums, The Weeknd is today’s highest new entry with My Dear Melancholy (Island) entering at #3.
“Freaky Friday” first charted at #16 and rose to #5 last week. It’s Dicky’s first U.K. #1—he hasn’t had much traction in Blighty before now—and Brown’s second.
The highest new singles entry this week is The Weeknd with “Call Out My Name” at #7, “Try Me” at #17 and “Wasted Times” at #18. He might have had even more tracks in the Top 40 if last year’s singles chart rules hadn’t come into play, which limit one artist to three entries in the Top 100 at any one time.
