Island Records U.K. has hired respected digital exec Claire Mas as Head of Digital. She joins after two years leading initiatives at UMG-distributed indie Communion Music Group, where she played a key role in developing and breaking artists including Bear’s Den, Lucy Rose and Dan Croll.
“Claire has become known as one of the most talented digital executives in the industry, and I’m thrilled to have her energy and expertise at Island,” said Island President Darcus Beese,
Added MD Jon Turner added, “Claire is a fantastic addition to the family. Everyone who knows Claire knows she doesn’t hold back, and it’s this kind of fearless approach that Island has always embraced.”
Prior to joining Communion, Mas was leading digital training at music-industry consultancy Music Ally while also managing bands, after switching from the world of corporate finance to follow her passion for music.
