WARNER, UMG SCORE CHRISTMAS #1s

While Warner and UMG have won the coveted Christmas #1 spots on the Official Charts with Clean Bandit and Michael Ball and Alfie Boe respectively, Sony has earned its best singles chart performance since 2008.

Ben Cook’s Atlantic has this year’s top festive single with Clean Bandit’s "Rockabye” f/ rising star Anne–Marie and Sean Paul. The track has remained at the Official Singles helm for seven weeks with a combined chart tally of 589k.

BRITs Critics’ Choice winner Rag’n’Bone Man finishes second place with “Human” (Columbia) 10k copies behind. Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki are at #3 with “Just Hold On” (Syco), while Little Mix leap 19 places with new single “Touch” (Syco) to land at #4. Mariah Carey holiday favourite “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Columbia) concludes the Top 5.

Zara Larsson’s “I Would Like” (Black Butter) makes its Top 10 debut at #6, adding to seven singles in the Top 10 for Jason Iley’s Sony, and 11 singles in the Top 20. Over on the Official Albums Chart, UMG imprint Decca boasts the best selling artist album of 2016 with Ball and Boe’s Together. This week the set tallied 110k combined chart sales, 98% of which were physical, bringing its total sales to date to 466k. Little Mix rise one place with Glory Days (Syco) at #2, while The Wonder of You by Elvis Presley is at #3. The Rolling StonesBlue & Lonesome (Polydor) is at #4 and Olly Murs 24 HRS (RCA) holds at #5.
