NEW U.K. SIGNINGS: CAMILLE AND MADNESS
6/10/16

British songwriter Camille Purcell—known for hits with Little Mix, The Saturdays, Fleur East and Ella Henderson—has signed to UMG U.K. imprint Virgin EMI as an artist, while ’70s ska band Madness are with Universal’s catalogue imprint, UMC.

Purcell is working with Virgin EMI SVP of A&R Nick Burgess. She won the ASCAP Foundation Stone Award, presented to new writers, in 2013, and has credits on 12 albums, including releases from Union J, Jessie J and Leona Lewis, as well as those mentioned above.

Celebrating the signing at Virgin EMI offices in the photo above are Rodney Williams of Raw Kingdom Management, Purcell, Nick Burgess and label chief Ted Cockle.

Madness, meanwhile, are set to release their 11th studio album.

In other activity, Mistajam’s Speakerbox has been busy again this week, signing DJ/Producer/MC Majestic to a co-publishing deal with Sony/ATV.
