MARCH AND MORTIMER OFFICIALLY NAMED POLYDOR U.K. CO-TOPPERS
5/17/16

Tom March (L) and Ben Mortimer (R) have officially been named co-Presidents of Universal Music U.K. label Polydor Records. If you've been reading this waste of a domain, you will have noticed the news a few weeks back, when we revealed the duo were being upped from their respective roles as Virgin EMI General Manager and Polydor A&R Director.

March and Mortimer's "drive and energy" will take the label into "another world-beating era," said UMG U.K. boss David Joseph. Joseph himself spent the first 10 years of his UMG tenure as GM of Polydor while Lucian Grainge was MD, saving the label from potential closure thanks to success with acts including Boyzone and the Lighthouse Family.

Said Joseph: “Universal Music has built its success on promoting from within, and in Ben and Tom we have two exceptionally creative executives with a shared ability to truly realise their artists’ vision. They have already proved they are a great team, and I know their drive and energy will take Polydor into another world-beating era.”
