U.K. CHRISTMAS #1: CHARITY RULES
12/26/15

The coveted Christmas #1 spot in Blighty has been claimed by The NHS Choir with charity single “A Bridge Over You,” which races ahead of Justin Bieber by 31k. Bieber was on top at midweek, but thanks to a final surge—no doubt aided in part by supportive tweets from Bieber himself—“Bridge” is the third do-gooder track to hit the top yuletide spot in the last five years.

“A Bridge Over You,” the proceeds from which will go to a number of charities, including Carers U.K. and mental-health nonprofit Mind, claimed 127k, while Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (last week’s #1) finished with 97k.

On the Official Albums Chart front, Adele is naturally still the victor, with 25 crowned the biggest-selling album of Christmas week 2015. The XL blockbuster racked up nearly 450k copies in the past seven days, bringing its total tally in Blighty to 2.61 million.
