DATELINE: LONDON—The new album from Parlophone's Coldplay looks set for a 12/4 release date, according to sources, evidence of which is bolstered by the beginnings of a promo campaign spotted on London's Underground (click the image for a larger view). Mysterious-looking posters have been seen by Coldplay fans featuring the date and a "flower of life" symbol that frontman Chris Martin has previously been seen wearing. Titled A Head Full Of Dreams, the release date has also been added to the band's Wikipedia page.

It's Coldplay's seventh album and the final release on their deal; it follows 2014's Ghost Stories (which bowed with 383k) .

The first song from the new LP, "Amazing Day," was premiered at Global Citizen Festival in NYC in September, but the track has yet to reach radio. Names involved in production are said to include Phil Tan, Rik Simpson, Davide Rossi and Norwegian duo Stargate.

Other music set to be released on 12/4 includes the new album from Rick Ross Black Market (Def Jam) and the debut from young Polydor name Troye Sivan Blue Neighbourhood.

Albums from Columbia's Beyoncé, Roc Nation’s Rihanna and Def Jam’s Kanye West are also yet to be announced, but slated to appear before the new year. Will any of the above scupper Coldplay's chances of reaching #1? Keep your eyes on this worthless website for more Q4 news as we have it.
