WHAT IT IS: Texas native Abbey Cone has come a long way since she first made the trek to Nashville at the age of 12 and began honing her craft. Inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country Class in 2020 and named one of Pandora’s 10 Country Artists to Watch in 2022, the now-23-year-old recently released her debut collection, Hate Me. The EP, which showcases Cone’s genuineness and vulnerability, also displays her clever songwriting—she’s credited as a co-writer and co-producer on all six tracks, including standout singles “Rhinestone Ring,” “King of the World” and the title track. The rising country songstress has already collaborated with Lori McKenna, Shane McAnally, Nicolle Gallyon and Jessie Jo Dillon.
