DOMi & JD BECK (APESHIT/Blue Note)
5/12/22

WHAT IT IS: As the first artists signed to Anderson .Paak’s new label APESHIT, DOMi & JD BECK are gearing up to release their debut album in partnership with Blue Note. The duo—keyboardist DOMi Louna and drummer JD Beck—are creating a buzz ahead of any official release with a unique style that deftly fuses harmonic complexity and rhythmic shiftiness. Along the way, they’ve sat in with Herbie Hancock and backed Thundercat, Ariana Grande, Mac DeMarco and Eric André, and they share a co-writing credit on “Skate” from .Paak’s Grammy-winning album with Bruno Mars as Silk Sonic. A driving force in the future-sonic-jazz movement, the pair made their label debut with “SMiLE” on 4/29.
