WHAT IT IS: With piercings on her face and D.I.Y. spikes affixed to her shoes, 18-year-old singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist carolesdaughter, born Thea Taylor, captivates without fear or filter. Spending much of her youth bouncing between high schools, Taylor eventually fell down a rabbit hole of drugs and multiple trips to rehab. Making a promise to pursue music on returning home, she ended up making major waves with her single, “Violent,” which amassed 250m streams globally and led to her opening for Machine Gun Kelly, performing at Firefly Festival and headlining her own shows. With her refreshingly honest lyricism and penchant for poignancy, carolesdaughter is just getting started.
