WHAT IT IS: Bursting out of the alt-pop scene, Toronto four-piece Valley—Rob Laska, Michael “Mickey” Brandolino, Alex Dimauro and Karah James—have generated a growing buzz over the last two years with their effervescent and melodic hooks. After earning a 2020 Juno Award nom for the album Maybe, Valley kicked off 2021 with the nostalgically sweet single “Like 1999,” which went viral on TikTok and helped their catalog explode to 170m+ streams.
