WHAT IT IS: Raised in Yuba City, a small farming community in Northern California, Rich found his love of music early on, while singing classics (and Creedence Clearwater Revival) with family around a Christmas tree. At age eight, a cousin introduced him to the country sounds of George Strait, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. At 14, his grandparents surprised him with a guitar so he could join in the annual jams. Fast forward to college graduation and getting a degree in economics, when Rich moved to L.A. to pursue a different game of numbers: music. He explored various genres through songwriting and bands before taking the leap as a solo artist. Since then, his once-Sacramento-centric fanbase has grown significantly, stretching to Nashville, where he signed a record deal with Valory and a publishing agreement with Big Machine Music. The talented singer/songwriter, who’s been tinkering away in the studio, is expected to release his new single on 4/26.
