WHAT IT IS: In two years, music has carried this 22-year-old singer/songwriter around the world to places far from his native Strafford, Vt. Last year, Kahan’s international hit, “Hurt Somebody,” racked up more than 200m streams while going triple platinum in Australia and gold in six countries. Later, his “False Confidence” went Top 5 at Triple A radio and “Young Blood” garnered millions of streams, while selling out tours in North America, Europe and the U.K. In the midst of this whirlwind, he assembled his debut album, Busyhead, which is due early summer and features his latest single, “Mess.”
