WHAT IT IS: Born Azniv Korkejian in Aleppo, Syria, to Armenian parents, Bedouine spent her childhood in Saudi Arabia, moving to America when her family won a Green Card lottery. Influenced by her own wanderlust and curiosity, Bird Songs of a Killjoy—the singer/songwriter’s highly anticipated, sophomore album—has already garnered excitement from NPR, Stereogum and more. In 2017, she released her self-titled debut album to widespread critical acclaim, grabbing the attention of Vogue, Rolling Stone, Fader, Stereogum and more. Bedouine has since toured the U.S. alongside Father John Misty, Jose Gonzalez and Michael Kiwanuka. Her new single, “Echopark,” is out 4/24.
