Digital Farm Animals (SYCO)
11/24/16

WHAT IT IS: “We heard a song called ‘True’ by Nick Gale (Digital Farm Animals), and we thought it was a big record,” explains SYCO A&R man Tyler Brown. “We then found out it was 100% written and produced by Nick. We met him and then discovered he had a whole body of work with many hits in the making. It clicked into gear when he played us a song called ‘Millionaire’ that he’d co-written. We got Nelly on it as a feature, which was incredible, and decided to go with it as the first commercial single of the campaign.” “Millionaire” was Radio 1’s second-most-played record in its fourth week on the playlist. To date, the song, which has been certified silver in the U.K., has been streamed more than 45m times just on Spotify (U.K.). It peaked at #25 on the Official Chart, where it spent seven weeks in the Top 40. As a songwriter and producer, Gale has amassed 850m+ Spotify streams. And he was recently nominated for Songwriter of the Year at Music Business Worldwide’s The A&R Awards. The ambition is to have consistent international hits and position DFA as one of the world’s leading dance-music producers and songwriters. DFA is managed by Mark Fineman, published by Tim Blacksmith and Danny D’s Stellar Songs and booked by Mike Greek at CAA.
