CHART CHAT
9/8/15

HITS' own Jesse Beer (CliprKid) and Naomi Robin (RockinRobin) jump on the web to discuss the newest adds on the radio charts this week, and you've got an inside look at their chat. Find out what's hot on their radar.

CliprKid: Back at it this week! Wanna start it off by giving major kudos to Steve Zap and his team for cracking Top 40 with their artist, Daya. All done independently and she’s #84 most Shazamed song in the US

RockinRobin: Yes! I feel like her single, “Hideaway,” is the first song containing substance to enter Top 40 since we’ve started doing Chart Chat. It’s about time that we have someone rooting for good girls & guys, especially in a world dominated by Tinderellas and Fuckboys (see Urban Dictionary)

CliprKid: Agreed! Also the single is up 30% this week, selling 12k, impressive. Let’s keep an eye on this one

RockinRobin: Definitely. We’ve had our eyes on X Ambassador’s “Renegade” and they’ve finally debuted at Top 40 after multiple weeks at #1 on Alt

CliprKid: It’s the #32 most Shazamed song in the US and is bound to keep growing now that it crossed over. Love love love it.

RockinRobin: Same. Another badass bitch debuted on Alternative with Jack White’s female-fronted band, The Dead Weather. You must check out their “I Feel Love” music video for the full effect

CliprKid: What a killer video!!! She is such a rockstar. Let's shift over to Urban. Some good tracks hitting the charts this week including “Antidote" by Travi$ Scott. This song has grown on me. Has such an infectious groove.

RockinRobin: Hell yeah, he had the whole crowd bumping and grinding at Epic Fest last weekend

CliprKid: Was it epic?

RockinRobin: *Rolls eyes*

CliprKid: How about Drake's Hotline bling. 6 million views on YouTube. The ladies love it. You r a lady, what say u?

RockinRobin: It’s extremely catchy (and debuted on both Rhythmic and Urban, btw) but I don’t understand how he’s mad at a girl for moving on even though he moved away #clingyAF

CliprKid: I know we talked about it last week, but Bieber’s “What Do U Mean” just hit the rhythmic chart, its #4 pop on the Shazam charts and # 8 overall. Justin has a monster on his hands with this record!

RockinRobin: It’s his Rosh Hashana gift to Scooter, may his year be filled with the sweet success of multiple hit singles

CliprKid: I wanna close by talking about J Cole’s “No Role Modelz" which just hit the rhythmic charts. J Cole just continues to make good music, doesn’t always get the radio support he needs, but the fans love him!

RockinRobin: I looooooove the chorus and George W. Bush’s cameo oh so very much. This makes me want to dive into J Cole’s catalog. I’m taking next Mon off for the holiday, so I look forward to catching up in 2 weeks. Shana tova!

CliprKid: See ya! Jew have a good one
