For the fourth time in five years, Marty Bandier’s Sony/ATV won Publisher of the Year honors at Thursday night’s ASCAP Pop Music Awards, held at BOA in West Hollywood. Marty is seen here, flanked by Co-Presidents Danny Strick and Rick Krim, just before meeting the Cuban delegation for the ceremonial Rolling of the Montecristo. 22 Sony/ATV songs took individual awards at the event.

Among the winners: Greg Kurstin and Sia Furler for the latter’s “Cheap Thrills;” Kurstin for Adele’s “Hello”; Andrew Taggart, Frederic Kennett, Isaac Slade and Joseph King for The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” and Taggart for their “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Roses”; Monte Moir Allen Ritter, Boi-1da and Rupert Thomas for Rihanna’s “Work”; Mike Posner for “I Took a Pill in Ibiza”; Dave Basett for Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s”; Fetty Wap for “679”; G-Eazy for “Me, Msyself & I”; Calvin Harris for “This Is What You Came For”; and Eli Maiman, Kevin Ray, Nicholas Petricca and Sean Waugaman for Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance.”

In his speech, Bandier congratulated his team and was generous with his thanks, noting, "I want to congratulate our songwriters for their awards tonight, and to thank them for everything they do. Their talent and creativity never ceases to amaze me and I know we are blessed at Sony/ATV with having the best songwriters in the business." He also underscored that there was work to be done...
