WAXPLOITATION GETS INTO BED WITH BMG
2/14/17

BMG is joining forces with Waxploitation Records, signing an exclusive agreement to manage and administer the indie label’s music publishing rights globally.

Since its formation in 1996, Waxploitation has worked with an impressive array of artists, including Danger Mouse and Gnarls Barkley. More recently, it released Stories for Ways & Means, a “literary mixtape” featuring children’s story collaborations by the likes of Tom Waits, Zach Galifianakis and Nick Cave.

Said Waxploitation founder Jeff Antebi: “Our industry thrives on creative partnerships. It’s an exciting time for music discovery and artist development. The combination of Waxploitation’s roster and BMG’s world class pool of songwriters and artists opens the door for some very ambitious collaborations.”

Zach Katz, BMG’s U.S. President Repertoire & Marketing, seconds that emotion. “Jeff and his team have a unique blend of taste, culture and business acumen. They are part of a select few who continue finding new ways to connect with the creative community and their audience. We are grateful for the opportunity for BMG to align with their musical interests.”
